The Christchurch Hearing Association Inc is a voluntary organisation formed in 1938. Hearing Associations throughout New Zealand now offer unbiased information about hearing matters to all, and offer a valuable first-port-of-call to the hearing impaired, their families and friends.
The Hearing Association offers the following services:
*Field worker who will visit Rest Homes for hearing aid cleaning and battery checking and advice
*Demonstration devices for television, telephone, personal microphones & amplifiers, door bells, alarm clocks & various alarms such as smoke alarm & baby monitor
*Pre hearing aid advice
*Drop-in service for minor repair, battery checking etc. – small charge applies.
*Sales – hearing loss information books, batteries, battery tester, ear plugs, badges & hearing aid maintenance equipment, amplified phones, TV devices, clocks, personal digital listeners etc.
Hire Services are available – of telephones, TV devices, personal digital listeners etc., for when hearing impaired family/friends come to stay.

EAR HEALTH CANTERBURY – Rosemary Hanley, registered nurse, offers removal of wax in ears by means of suction. Clinics are held at 275 Riccarton Road. Telephone 348 8716 for appointment.
