Presbyterian Support Upper South island operate the purpose-built Harakeke Club venues in Riccarton and Linwood: friendly, needs-based day programmes for people with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. Transport is available to and from the club and a midday meal, morning and afternoon teas provided. The centres are purpose-built stand alone dementia specific facilities which run five days a week, 8.30-5pm.
Professionally trained staff take an holistic approach to healthcare. A maximum of 16 clients attend daily. Secure garden setting. Varied and needs based programme. Assessment teams (PSE and CST) assess clients for entry to day activity programmes and eligibitily for appropriate DHB funding.
