INFORMATION
The Bishopdale Community Trust was established in 1999 to support people in the northwest area of Christchurch, in particular Bishopdale. We do this by helping people feel part of the community and offering a warm welcome when they join us at The Hub (94 Farrington Ave). We operate a number of groups and activities including:
Monday Morning Tech Support: Every Monday morning from 9am – 12pm, our technicians help navigate problems you may be having with your phone, tablet, computer and more.
Monday morning coffee and friendship: Meets every Monday 10:30-11:30 am. Great company, lots of fun.
Monday Afternoon: Mahjong 12:30 – 2:30pm
Monday Card Making Club – An independently run weekly club for keen card makers who want to meet with others of similar interests, to share ideas and techniques. New members always welcome. 1:00 – 2:30 pm. $5 per week paid to the club.
Tuesday Social Scrabble group – Come along and play Scrabble with a friendly group. 9:45am.
Tuesday women’s walking group – Enjoy a range of walks around the local area and stay afterwards to savour good company and have a cuppa. 9:30 am (summer) & 10:00 am (winter). $25 subscription per year but come along and try us out for free!
Wednesday craft group – Bring your own knitting, crochet, colouring & crafts with help available from an experienced tutor. 1-3pm.
Wednesday 500 club – Come along, make friends and have fun playing or learning the card game 500. 1-3pm.
Wednesday Rummikub club – Come along, make friends and have fun playing or learning the tile game, Rummikub. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Thursday P.O.N.D (Parents of Neurodiverse Children) 10:00am-11:30am Have a chat and cuppa with those facing similar challenges, share ideas, tools, and celebrate wins.
Thursday community lunch – Enjoy a shared lunch of yummy soup in winter and salad sandwiches in summer. Everyone is welcome. Great company and lots of laughs. 11:30 am–12:30pm.
We appreciate a Gold Coin donation for all of our activities unless specified differently. This helps us offer these activites and keep doing what we can to assist our fabulous community!
