HOURS
9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday
Counselling is a free and confidential service offered by the Family Court. The 3 hrs daily service is provided for people who are having difficulties in their relationship – a form requesting counselling must be completed by one of the parties, and handed in to the Court. Counselling is available before any legal action has started or at any stage of the legal proceedings. The counselling sessions do not take place at the Family Court itself, but through local counselling agencies or with individual counsellors. Counsellors are professionals, trained to help you come to your own decisions and understandings through discussion and guidance. For more information ring the number above and ask to speak to a Family Court Co-ordinator. More info. is on website at www.justice.govt.nz/family
