The Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs promotes the wellbeing and development of Pacific peoples in New Zealand. They work to ensure that Pacific peoples can participate in and contribute fully to New Zealand’s social, cultural and economic life.
They do this in a way that recognises and reflects Pacific cultural values and aspirations.
The Ministry is Government’s premier adviser on policies and interventions to promote the social, economic and cultural development of Pacific peoples in New Zealand. All of their work is designed to enable and foster a vision of successful Pacific peoples.
