Making it safer and easier to get around as Christchurch grows

The NZ Transport Agency and Christchurch City Council are working on a plan for one of the city’s busiest areas – between Moorhouse Avenue and Brougham Street.
Traffic volumes and travel times have increased, and over the past 10 years, 11 people died and 130 people were seriously injured in crashes within the project area.
We want to make it safer and easier for everyone to live, do business and travel in this area, both now and in the future. Our plan will cover the next 30 years, and will include short, medium and long-term improvements.
It’s early days and we are gathering local knowledge. We welcome your input now and there will be further opportunities for engagement as the project progresses.
Come and meet the project team at one of our community drop-in sessions.
