New bus services from Waimakariri

New fast and direct bus services from Waimakariri to central Christchurch start on Monday 11 January 2021

The 91 Rangiora – City direct and 92 Kaiapoi – City direct will travel from Park & Ride locations in each town to key hubs within central Christchurch, including the Bus Interchange and Christchurch Hospital. They won’t stop anywhere else along the way. The services run Monday to Friday, each with four trips to the city in the mornings, and five afternoon trips back to the Park & Ride facilities. Timetables are available now at https://www.metroinfo.co.nz/timetables/91-rangiora-city-direct/ and https://www.metroinfo.co.nz/timetables/92-kaiapoi-city-direct/

The Park & Ride facilities will provide between 40-100 carparks with lighting, security cameras and facilities for secure bike storage. Parking will be free. See the locations and learn more at waimakariri.govt.nz/park-and-ride.

These two new services are in addition to the existing Waimakariri bus routes, including the 1 Rangiora – Cashmere (Blue Line), 95 Pegasus/Waikuku – City and 97 Pegasus – Rangiora. The 91 and 92 buses will use the new T2 lanes* on the Christchurch Northern Motorway, and the dedicated bus lanes on Cranford Street, but can use other routes depending on traffic.

*T2 lanes can be used by vehicles with two or more people in them, as well as buses and motorcycles. Learn more at nzta.govt.nz/letsride.
