Smile New Zealand is a joint initiative run annually by the New Zealand Dental Association and Southern Cross Health Trust.

As part of this initiative, persons eligible are able to have one dental problem solved in September 2020 for FREE. Adults (18+) who hold a current community services card and have a known and/or urgent dental problem, are eligible to access this opportunity.

The free appointment is about 30-40 minutes long and enables patients to receive one dental treatment ranging from a filling, extraction, relief of pain or infection, to preventative care such as fluoride applications or a scale and polish.
