The Canterbury Charity Hospital Trust is a registered charitable trust formed to provide free, elective day surgery and medical consultations for some people in our Canterbury community who would otherwise not have access to such services.
Surgical services include:
Colonoscopy
General surgery (abdominal & lower colorectal surgery )
Gynaecology & women’s health
Ophthalmology (eyes)
Orthopaedics (hands, elbows, minor shoulder)
Podiatric (feet)
Plastics
Vasectomy
Also provide:
-Dentistry including non-urgent extractions, root canals and fillings for WINZ (Work and Income New Zealand) clients through referrals from their dentist.
-Counselling for adults.

Patients must first be assessed by their GP.
A dental service provided by volunteer dentists for WINZ beneficiaries is now available for fillings, non urgent extractions, cleaning and gum treatment and root fillings on front teeth. A referral from a dentist or the Christchurch hospital dental department, is required.
