NetSafe receives reports of common digital challenges that cause financial and emotional harm to New Zealanders.
Reports are submitted via the Online Reporting Button website, via their free telephone helpline (0508 NETSAFE) and via email and social media channels including Twitter and Facebook.
Kiwis can report online scams and frauds, privacy breaches, online trading complaints, computer system attacks and objectionable material they come across online.
NetSafe works with a network of government and law enforcement partners in New Zealand to evaluate and respond to online incidents, triaging reports received and escalating these when required to dedicated teams that specialise in consumer protection, computer security, privacy and child protection issues.
The telephone helpline service operates during office hours only (Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm). Outside of these hours you can leave a message and they will call you back as soon as possible.
