Community & Public Health (a division of the Canterbury District Health Board) delivers free public health services in Canterbury (from Kaikoura to the Waitaki River) & the West Coast. Public health services are population based health promotion & health protection activities that are concerned with whole populations or groups such as children or elderly people rather than individuals. The Community Health Information Centre (open 10.30am-5pm Mon-Fri, ph 378 6721) provides a variety of free pamphlets & posters, with videos, DVDs, CD-Roms, educational kits, books & ministry documents available to loan on numerous health-related issues.
Office hours are 8am-5pm.
