The North Canterbury Presbyterian Support provides a range of services. Open 8.30am to 5pm weekdays.
Totara Club (day programme for older people living in the community). It offers company, activities and outings. Phone number as above, operates 5 days a week. By assessment.
HomeShare: Support older people living in their home community. HomeShare invites small groups of people (2-4) into a host’s private home for a day a week. It offers a home cooked meal, companionship and activities.
Community Support: A range of services to help older people to maintain independence and quality of life in North Canterbury. It includes:
Volunteer Support – We have a team of trained volunteers who can be matched with older people in the community to visit regularly or just phone for a chat and to help with shopping and other errands.
Carer Sitter Service – A service which enables the carers for others to take care of their own needs.
Transport – Pick and return to appointments in Rangiora and Christchurch may be available.
Home Maintenance Service – We can put older people in touch with reliable, trustworthy trades-people and handymen. Services include plumbing, gardening and electrical. No job is too small, and all workers have been interviewed by us and provided referees.
