MHERC offers a free mental health library for the people of the South Island. Books, CDs, DVDs and videos on a wide range of mental health topics are available for loan. A free return postal service is available to anyone who lives in the South Island. The library service can be accessed in person at 314 Selwyn Street (Brougham St end) Mon – Fri 9am – 4.30pm
MHERC provides an education and information service available to all people with mental health issues, families, friends, caregivers, mental health professionals, students and anyone else with an interest in mental health and illness.

The Canterbury Mental Health Directory is available at the Centre for $10 which includes postage.
The Centre is also home base for the following groups: Anxiety Support Canterbury 377 9665; Bipolar Support Canterbury 366 5815; Caring for Carers 377 8426; Mental Health Foundation 366 6936; Psychiatric Consumers Trust 366 8288.
There are meeting rooms for hire with whiteboard, overhead and data show projectors available.
We also provide support for people with disabilities (physical or mental health) on Sickness and Invalids Benefits who wish to re-enter the workforce through our participation in PATHS.
The Centre is open Monday to Friday 9 – 4.30 pm.
